PHOENIX NORTH PHOENIX LIONS CLUB AT A GLANCE

The Phoenix North Phoenix Lions Club is an active participant in our community.

We have adopted a 1 mile stretch of road located on Camelback Road between 7th Steet and 7th Avenue to keep it as clean as possible for area residents and businesses.

We provide eye exams and glasses for underprivileged youth from 38 local schools. We are the proud sponsors of the Lions Vision Center and provide additional funding for the Vision Center to use for children not referred by a school sponsored through a Lions Club.

The North Phoenix Lions Club adopts families for Christmas through our annual Santa Project. Each family receives gifts of toys/wish items and clothing for each family member, a box of fresh fruit and groceries. Our club works with the City of Phoenix Human Services and other social agencies to locate families who need our help. This year (2009) 10 families were provided assistance through our club.

In an effort to "serve" our community, North Phoenix Lions partnered with Valley of the Sun Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a family with a visually impaired member! They are now in their new home. Members donated hours on the project and foundation donated along with Lions International for funding.

We participate with many community service agencies (City of Phoenix Human Services, St. Mary's Food Bank, Family Advocacy Center, Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Lions Vision Center, Lions Camp Tatiyee)

The club also hosts The North Phoenix Lions Club Foundation.  The foundations is a qualified tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501 (C)(3) of the Federal Income Tax Code.
